Short hair, meet our daughter...

What was it Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote? Something like, "Often treachery lies underneath the fairest hair." Well, I don't know about treachery, but I think you can tell by her little hip pop in this pose that there's a fair amount of spunk underneath her fair head of hair...even with less of it now. Nothing like a good summer hair cut...now if summer could just show itself.

That was exactly what I was going to guess next...???

We played Charades tonight with the kids. It's very interesting to see what they come up with. The age appropriate things to act out might be a dog, basketball, etc, right? I couldn't get over what T and G came up with: T's charade of the night was a wild, ravenous beast who grabbed a screaming little girl (in comes G to the charade) and drags her into his lair. And G's was a girl who happened to get picked up in a taxi after which it dropped her at her home for a few moments only to eat the muffins that her grandmother told her she absolutely COULD have-after which she of course drove by and waved. I mean...of course...that's what I was going to guess next! Weren't you?

Now that's a good man!

We have had the flu...all of us. And, it's not your run of the mill, stop you in your tracks for a moment kind. This is more of the lovely aches all over, constant sore throat, non stop fever, gorgeously hacking cough, last three weeks kind. Needless to say, some things have gone without around this house-such as the yard, extra obligations, oh...and sleep. Even though the very cure for this illness is sleep, it is unattainable. The minute one child falls asleep, the next wakes with the aches or a cough. So, to let me catch up on some rest...my wonderful husband did some multi-tasking for the day. He did the yard work (with children in tow) and then I woke up to breakfast in bed Martha Stewart style. I was presented with an egg and bacon croissant, vitamins, and a sweet kiss! Now that is an awesome man and that's only one of the reasons he's so great.
