She did it! Gracie attended her first day of school. She was apprehensive, at first, but did very well. She lost some steam at the end of the day, but honestly, just the fact that she went and got through it is amazing! I can't explain how touching it was to watch her holding hands with other little girls and chatting away the recess hour. Her favorite subject was spanish, as she recognized many of the words and could count to ten! The other children were absolutely sweet and darling to her. I've been so touched with their compassion, and the way her teacher, Miss Pruneda (greatest Kindergarten teacher ever) prepared them for her arrival! So, way to go Gracie! What a great day!

thank you for your sweet card that we received in the mail. i will keep you posted when our #2 arrives here shortly. such a huge accomplishment for Grace to engage with her "first day of school"; it symbolizes so much more. i am so grateful that this moment has arrived for her. where there is a will - there is a way.
Oh Yay!!! How exciting! I bet she loved it, cant wait to hear more. As a mom, I can only imagine how touched you were..I would have bawled the whole day out of sheer joy . Thats so exciting!
Yippee for Grace. I am so glad to hear she has a great Kindergarten teacher. Did you stay the whole time, Kim? I think that this was such a big step and hopefully it will be someplace she is excited to go next time she feels up to it. And, luckily she is such a smartie, that all she needs from Kindergarten is a nice loving peer group!
Great job Gracie! We love you.
Grace you are an incredible inspiration for us all!
We hope to be awed with your continuing advancement through every update we receive.
You & your sweet family are our new heroes.

What a perfect day, and all under the protection of your big brother! You two look splendid!!! I am sure you are both making loads of new friends. The best thing about friends is you don't have to follow the "everything in moderation rule". So go crazy!!!! You can never have to many! I love that! Something you can fill up on, have it over flow, and still never have too much of. Well...it looks like you have some more work to do, in addition to your homework. We can't wait to see your smiling faces!!! Thinking of you and wishing you the best! Keep up the good work. XOXOXO
Hooray for all of you! I'm so happy that Grace was able to have her "first day". She is so adorable and I loved the picture too. You ALL are so special and wonderful, thanks for such an honest blog.
Hip Hip Hooray!! You sound like you live in the most wonderful place in the world. Your ward is amazing, your school is amazing and you have so many wonderful people there taking care of you. I'm so glad Grace went to school. What an accomplishment!!! She looks so cute in her uniform. It's hard to go to the first day of school but with so little energy it must have been even harder. What a trooper!!
I'm so happy for Grace! The kids look really cute in their school clothes--I can't believe how much they've grown. Sounds like they go to a great school. We'll be praying that Gracie can keep up her energy and enjoys the experience.
Great Job Gracie! What a wonderful day for all. So glad she felt up to it. Sounds like she jumped right in, didn't miss a beat. They are lucky to have her.
