Today's chemo
Grace was supposed to have her BIG day of chemo-with three new kinds and it was to last the full day. But, when we got her port all hooked up, her blood counts had dropped clear to 400, so she can't begin until count recovery. We are supposed to try again in a week, same regiment, including a spinal tap. No wonder she has felt so rotten! She has very little by way of healthy blood cells protecting her. But, who can complain about NOT receiving chemo, right? All the more time for Polly Pockets and fun when she's up to it.

Hi, I was just checking in on you guys. I haven't checked on you for a while, sorry. Things are going a little better for us. We finally came home from the hospital after 2 months. What chemo drugs was she suppose to get today? We go back on Thursday for a 4 day stay for chemo. Of course Avarie is undergoing a different chemo regimine but some of the drugs are the same. Like the Vincristine. That one is not my favorite. We also hate the spinal taps. How often do you guys get one? we have one every 1-2 weeks. We've only had 2 spinal headaches, but they last forever it seems. Avarie's counts have gotten to 0 a couple of times. One time they were 0 for 2 weeks. That was a bad time for her. Things are much better. I hope Gracie starts feeling better soon.
Yay for no chemo. Boo for low blood counts. I hope this week will be a boost for Grace and all of you.
Im happy and sad at the same time..Maybe this week will be just what she needs to ramp up for next week, I sure wish she has a great week, I am glad to hear she is regaining some energy..
You are so sweet to put Shaheen's picture up. Thank you! We are counting, on counting a positive cell count, and are certain the count will cruise up. When we say this we feel like The Count on Sesame Street. Ideas to raise the numbers Sabrina says, "(1)Dress warm and lay on your trampoline when the sun is shining while T and Eva bounce you. (2)Ride your horse downstairs like the wind. As if you were riding Spirit! (3)Lastly, eat lots of those funny soybeans your mama likes to make with the yummy salt and some delicious berries!".
