Mini Documentary of Grace

We wanted to post this video since we just received it in the mail. About a month or two ago some filmmakers from Doernbecher came and filmed Grace at our house and at the hospital. Although we did not catch it on TV, this was played on one of our local stations as a fundraising event. As we all watched it as a family this evening, Grace broke down from all the memories of her first year of Leukemia. Kim and I, on the other hand, are in awe at where we are today. Looking back to August 13, 2008 we never dreamed we would be almost back to normal. Once again, thank you to all you out there. Our little girl, and our family are deeply grateful for everything.

What a remarkable story on your sweet family!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, it was so inspiring to watch. Kim and JR the reason people have touched your lives and continued to care about your family is because you are both such an example to others. When your lives are full of service and always reaching out to others, your children pick up on the importance of serving. Let people help you because your family deserves it so much--oneday you will be given the opportunity to help another family in your same situation, and they will be so blessed. I am amazed everyday how you have handled Gracie's cancer, and reading this blog makes my day!! As I have observed your family over the past year, I have noticed all of the "glass slipper" moments that have happened, your faith and hope make me want to be a better person. . .

I am bawling right now after watching that. It is wonderful to see and yet very hard to watch, a little to close to home. How amazing to have it, it truly puts our fight out there for everyone to be able to relate to and try to see a glimpse of what our children and our families go through. It really is a treasure that Grace will be able to treasure years later and to show everyone what she has survived. I have to admit I am a little jealous, I wish we could have something like that too for Avarie. Maybe we'll have to make one.
