Gracie's clinic appointment last Thursday went well. After spending 8 hours receiving treatment she was exhausted but in a positive mood. She still wanted visit Build-A-Bear, a promise we made to her when her numbers increased. Her spinal tap went well and her chemo continues to go well. She came home from the hospital with her port accessed because Kim and I have to inject chemo into her port until Sunday. It is very uncomfortable for her and she favors her right arm, but we are almost over with it. It is heartbreaking to see our front room transform into a doctors office as Kim cleans, flushes, and administers Chemo into Grace's port. We know it is the best for her, but very difficult none the less.
Tanner was ill with the flu last night, but seems a little better tonight. He is playing basketball this season and loving it. He also is having a great time in school and is continually challenged academically. We are very proud of him.
Eva is obsessed with Sesame Street and loves everyone from Abby Kadaby, to The Count. In fact, usually while counting she laughs like the count "1,2,3 ah , ah , ah." Every once in a while she gets a call from Ernie, or Big Bird (Grandpa Glen) and we cannot pry the phone out of her hands.
I am going to have to have surgery this Wednesday. After 3 weeks of not being able to move my right wedding finger, I visited the doctor. The x-rays show that I tore my tendon and broke my finger. In order to bend it again, the orthopedic surgeon needs to fix my broken bone and reattach my tendon. Just one more thing to add to the Ujifusa household. But good news, Kim turns 29 this week.
We miss you already Grandma Shele. You have no idea how much you have helped this past week. Thank you and please let Grandpa Glen, Nick, Max, and Sam know how much we appreciate all their help in your absence.

Your blog is so super cute! I love the new look! We are so happy to hear that chemo went as well as could be expected. I am sure Grace loved going to Build a Bear, that is a HUGE treat! You'll have to post a picture of her with her new friend. T is really such a super star. We need to see some sweet action pics of him playing basketball! Eva, I, to am a Sesame Street lover! So sorry, JR, that you have to have surgery, is this from your tangle with Annabel? Yippee for Kim's 29th! She is such a young beauty and deserves to be CELEBRATED! Love you all!
WHAT?! JR I hope you are okay. I cannot believe how positive you sound in the middle of this arduous time for your family.
I hope you know how much we love you. You are a great support to your family. Kim is lucky to have such a caring and involved husband. (Speaking as Kim's sister...your lucky too!:)
I can't wait to see all of you in a few weeks and lend a "finger" (no pun intended), where I can.
Love you all!
A broken finger on top of everything else? This is a bummer! I am glad to hear that Grace was in good spirits after such a long day. I'm not sure I would be that strong, but with a great reward like build-a-bear... i might be a little cheery too. Good job on making it so far! You're all an inspiration. And... Kim... a birthday? Happy birthday! I know i'm not alone in saying that I'm glad you were born! You are more beautiful than you know!
I'm so happy to hear that Grace's numbers were up and that the chemo went "well". Tell her hi for me and that I have a BIG surprise next time I visit. JR I hope all goes well with your finger, I'm sure you guys have met your deductable by now! Love and positive thoughts to all of you....
What a time! I hope your finger is back to normal soon Jr..what a bummer! Is that Grace's new build a bear in the picture with Grandma Shele? If so, its super stylin..just like Grace! Tanner is a superstar..and Eva, she is just perfection isnt she. I love that in all of the pictures of her, she just looks laid back and chilled out..like a little sidekick, I love it. I'll call you on your birthday Kim...I ditto Raina, SO glad you were born :)
Not a broken finger too! So sorry JR. We are glad that Grace was able to get back on track with the chemo, sort of. But we are really glad about the build-a-bear. Brooks doesn't know that some lucky children actually get to take them home with them. He just admires in the store. Happy b-day Kim, what a special day!
J, I heard about your finger this morning from Big Bird, uh, I mean Grandpa Glen! I can't belive that Annabel! What a stinker! I hope you know that you and your sweet family are always in our prayers. I wish I could help out in some way. I'm glad to hear Grace is doing as well as can be expected. T is such a wonderful little man. I'm sure you're grateful to have him in your family. And who wouldn't love Eva with a face and personality like that?!?! Happy birthday Kim! We love you all. xo

How is JR? How is Gracie feeling? Does T need to go to college next month and get a medical degree? He could SO take care of the Ujifusa household! I really love reading your blog and wonder how long it takes you to put it all together? TALENT in your home guys! We miss and love you very much! Someone is having a birthday tomorrow?????????
